“Tick, Tick, Boom!,” Lin-Manuel Miranda’s new Netflix animated comedy, tells the story of Matilda, a young girl who dreams of solving the murder of her father. Matilda decides she will solve the crime and thereby achieve the fame she wants, but she doesn’t know that her father was murdered by an invisible killing machine that just targets celebrities, explains The New York Times. When she stumbles across the hidden location, she sets out to stop the killer and save her dad.
In a Netflix teaser posted on Monday, Miranda — who created the show, directed the episode and voices Matilda in the cartoon, as well as other characters — is seen dressed in a waxed hoodie from his musical “Hamilton,” and the soundtrack plays in the background. He is sitting with a group of people, some of whom look like he is chatting about someone in the group with him, while others act as though they are playing along with the soundtrack.
Miranda also voices characters in the teaser. In a second teaser released Monday, he appears as a “tweet” of himself asking some questions. It seems as though he is posing questions related to the show’s plot and asking his guests to answer them.
“Many people remember him for his iconic role in ‘Hamilton.’ Some were surprised to learn that he has a special role in ‘Tick, Tick… Boom!’,” said Netflix in a post on Sunday.
“Tick, Tick… Boom!” consists of 26 episodes, which have started streaming.
