Should Brooklyn be serving lunch to a Lower Manhattan corner?

Local residents and union leaders were fighting the closure of a Manhattan blood center into a Tuesday night conference call. The center at 26th Street and Lexington Avenue, has been a main spot for blood donations for about 80 years and brings in thousands of people every year.
Superintendent of the Brooklyn Blood Center and Health Education Officer John Ecker spoke about the main draw and also working to ensure the blood center could easily move the organization to Brooklyn if necessary.
