Quiet luxury at the top of PCHR

The new British Collection Boutique Hotel in Mexico City has catered to its most discerning clientele since its opening last month.

Luxury suite guests can tuck into a decadent continental breakfast, enjoyed in a secluded table right in the dining room. Owners have had a hand in the food, selecting in-house chefs who have cooked twice-daily in the 128-square-meter accommodations. The cuisine is elegant — bedspreads are artisanal Mexican silks and color palettes are based on local flower blooms.

And the bedside tables? Each has an intricate watercolor tacked to it. The Room, as guests have nicknamed it, is at the top of the 214-meter (689-foot) Pancho Villa Residence and Hotel (PCHR).

“It’s not all six-foot pillars and antiques,” said David Tilling, a British investor who came up with the concept and established the luxury boutique property with Mexican partners and family members. “On your doorstep are a ferris wheel, water slides, restaurants and bars. It’s a unique hotel for a unique market.”

Even the decor is surprising. Scroll through the gallery above to check out the rest of the hotel’s rooms.
